Have you ever felt strangely nervous about something you have no reason to be nervous about? That was how I felt this past Saturday as I headed to my bridal shower. Mine. Weird. My stomach was doing some wild acrobatic moves on the car ride over.
I’ve been to a few showers in my day, but it’s a whole ‘nother ballgame when the presents and games and cute little diamond ring cupcake toppers have your name on them. It was a mix of nerves and excitement and just general overwhelm that ohmygosh this is really happening and the wedding is next. Crazy.
The shower was hosted by one of my maids of honor, who also happens to be a party planner and hostess extraordinaire. She planned everything down to the last detail, from the nautical theme to match our waterfront venue to the giant bowl of York Peppermint Patties (my favorite) on the dessert table.
It’s hard to put into words how special it felt and how thankful I am for the amazing friends and family who took time out of their lives to celebrate at my shower, at my bachelorette party a couple months earlier, and just in general by sending happy wishes our way. If you’re one of them, thank you, thank you, thank you!
