You’re at your grandma’s house eating dinner (casserole, obvi). You pick up your refreshing glass of iced tea and that’s when you see it: a stark, white ring staining her beautiful farmhouse table that’s probably like, a zillion years old and has been in the family for generations.
You panic, trying to look casual while furiously scrubbing at the stain with your embroidered cloth napkin (grandmas, amirite?) but that sucker isn’t going anywhere.
We’ve all been there. But don’t freak out just yet.
There’s an easy way to remove white stains from wooden furniture; all you need is an iron.
I’ve seen a few articles online that attempt to explain the science behind this, but to be honest I skipped all that and tried it immediately. Guess what—it worked! And I’m sure if you’re reading this, that’s probably all you care about.
How To Remove A White Stain From Wooden Furniture
1. Set the iron to high heat and with the steam on
2. Once it’s hot, move it back and forth over the stain hovering just over the table’s surface so that steam is hitting the table
3. Use a towel to wipe up the moisture
4. Repeat until all white marks have disappeared
*Disclaimer* I used this on my Target coffee table and it worked great, but I make no guarantees and would probably be cautious about using this on expensive furniture. Try at your own risk!
I shot a short video of me using this technique to remove a white pizza box heat mark from my coffee table. Check it out, try it on grandma’s table and breathe easy knowing you didn’t damage a family heirloom beyond repair.
