Between the frigid weather and our recent vacation, I’ve had plenty of time to curl up and read. Here are some of the books I’ve finished recently along with my thoughts on them. Have you read any of them? Be sure to scroll down and tell me in the comments whether you agree with my review and leave me recommendations for what to read next! Becoming by Michelle Obama Just when I thought I couldn’t love the Obamas more, I…

In case you didn’t already know, I’m a quote person. I keep a note of them in my phone titled ‘Life Jamz’ and am forever adding to it. As a child, I loved those motivational posters teachers had in their classrooms with a kid’s hand reaching toward a tree and the word ‘D R E A M’ written in bubbly font. I would plaster those posters all over my house if they weren’t so ugly. While I think most things…
I generally think blog posts about goals are pointless, because does anybody really care what anyone else’s goals are except their own? No? Yes? I don’t know, maybe I’m just a narcissist. I swear though, if I see one more person talking about ‘Tidying Up’ I’m going to smash my wine glass on the floor. Just kidding. I would never do that. Anyway, to turn around and completely negate what I just said, I’m doing a blog post about my…
Transform Your Kitchen With Contact Paper For Countertops
Posted on January 7, 2019If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my stories about my kitchen countertops. I LOATHED THEM. They were about 60 years old, beige Formica with little black flecks that I’m guessing were supposed to be decorative, but at this point just looked like dirt. No matter how much I scrubbed the counters, the kitchen just didn’t feel clean. About a month ago I decided to give our tiny kitchen a facelift by painting the cabinets and drawers.…
That’s it. I’m a believer. It’s been two months—wow, time flies—since I decided to cut sugar from my diet, and I’m never going back. At least I hope not to. I haven’t cut out sugar completely (for a recap of how this all started and what I cut first, read this post), but I’ve cut out most sugar-filled foods like cereal, candy, soda, processed foods and baked goods, except for the occasional treat, and I feel good. I’ve had some…
How To Paint Your Kitchen Cabinets Yourself For A Total Transformation
Posted on December 18, 2018Have you ever wanted to teleport back to the 1950’s? If so, all you had to do was come on over and walk into our kitchen. The knotty pine cabinets. The Formica countertops with aluminum trim. The grease from 60 years’ worth of pot roasts. It was truly the whole experience. In fact, it reminded me so much of the kitchens in my grandparents’ old houses that part of me didn’t want to change a thing about it for nostalgia’s…
I’ve been heart-eyed about this pretty little space in the front of our house from the moment we moved in. For starters, it’s lined with windows, which is unlike any room in any house I’ve lived in before. In New York they do this crazy thing where they open the windows, and it makes the white sheer curtains (left here by the previous owner) do this dreamy blowing-in-the-wind deal that makes me want to keep them open even on the…
